Donnie Wilburn Beck, 69, of McLeansboro died at 4:28 a.m. on Tuesday, July 3, 2001, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital of heart failure.
He was born on July 27, 1931, in Carmi to Wilburn H. and Nora Lee (Cusic) Beck. He married Sharon Sue (Campbell) Beck in McLeansboro on June 12, 1953; she survives.
He was the assistant service manager for Rice Motors in Carmi and had worked as a milkman for 27 years with the Ideal Dairy.
He was a Korean War Marine veteran and member of the First Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Sharron; two sons, Marty and Mark, both of McLeansboro; his stepmother, Lucille Beck of Lawrenceville; a sister, Sandra Hardesty of Lawrenceville; two grandchildren, Kyle Allen and Marilee Beck; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2001 at Harre Funeral Home. Rev. Tony Auxier officiated. Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery, with military rites by American Legion Post 106 of McLeansboro.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
