Fred V. Wilkey

Fred V. Wilkey, 83, of Dahlgren died at 5:40 a.m. on Monday, January 29, 2001, at Wauconda Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center in Wauconda, Illinois.

He was born on January 8, 1918 in Mt. Vernon, the son of Nathan V. and Estella (Payne) Wilkey. He married Kathyrn Bonham and she survives.

He had been a professional photographer having worked for James Thompson Photography, commercial fisherman and produce salesman.

He was a member of the First Pentecostal Church in Water Valley, Mississippi.

Surviving are his wife, Kathryn (Bonham); two daughters, Vickie Godwin of Water Valley and Debbie Lockwood of Hammond, Lousianna; four sons, Fred Jr. of Mundelein, Nathan of Memphis, Tennessee, Jeff of Michigan, and Jack of Waxhaw, North Carolinia; two sisters, Betty Dycus of Waltonville and Beverly Kelly of Crest Hill; three brothers, Donald of Belle Rive, Jack of London, Tennessee, and Bob of Tallahassee, Florida; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 1, 2001 at Gholson Funeral Home in Dahlgren. Rev. Marty Hillman officiated. Burial in Flint Cemetery, with military rites by American Legion Post #104.

He was preceded in death by parents, one brother, two sisters, and a nephew.
