Hazel R. Allen Lewis, 76, of McLeansboro died at 5:45 p.m. on Monday, May 28, 2001, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital of sepsis.

She retired certified nursing assistant at Hamilton Memorial Hospital.

She married Stanley S. Allen, Sr.; he preceded her in death.

She was a member of Latch Baptist Church in Gilmer, Texas.

Surviving are a daughter, Margie Biggerstaff of McLeansboro; a son, Stanley of Gilmer; a brother, Alton Hendrix of Hallsville, Texas; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Her husband, Stanley S. Allen Sr., preceded her in death.

Graveside services were at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 1, 2001 in Brush Harbor Cemetery. The Rev. Robert Sefried officiated.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers; two sisters; and a grandson, Rodney.

Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, June 10, 2001 at Enfield Methodist Church. Burial was in Enfield Cemetery.
