Jennie B. Biggerstaff, 91 of McLeansboro died at 4:40 p.m. on September 9, 2001, at White County Skilled Care in Carmi.
She was a retired homemaker.
Mrs. Biggerstaff was born on July 30, 1910 in Hamilton County, to Claude and Effie (Huffstutler) Lasater. She married James Arthur (Arch) Biggerstaff on February 10, 1928; he is deceased.
Funeral services were at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 12, 2001 at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Rev. Buddy Sork and Rev. Carl Leek officiated. Burial was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery near McLeansboro.
She is survived by six sons, Ralph and wife Rosetta Biggerstaff, Manuel and wife Laura Jane Biggerstaff, Lowell and wife Linda Biggerstaff, Dale and wife Linda Biggerstaff, all of McLeansboro, John and wife Sharon Biggerstaff of Lynons, Virginia; seven daughters, Dorothy Russell, Mary Ruth and husband Edward Parr both of McLeansboro, Laura and husband Sy Riser of Momouth, Florence and husband Russ Dutton of Brookfield, Alice and husband Richard McKinney of Aurora, Nona Joann and husband Darrell Beckham of Belle Rive and Wanda and husband Morris Sledge of Mt. Vernon; one brother Harry Lasaster of O'Fallon. Also serveral step Grandchildren, step Great-Grandchildren and Step-Great-Great Grandchildren also survive. All together she had 70 Great Grandchildren.
Mrs. Biggerstaff attended Temple Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three sons, Claude, Cecil, and Donald Biggerstaff; two daughters, Mildred Biggerstaff and Evelyn Dee Allen; one brother, and two half brothers and two sisters.
