James Clyde Barnfield, 79, of McLeansboro, died at 3:10 p.m. on Sunday, February 4, 2001, at St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.
He worked at the Zillah (Wash.) school system in maintenance.
He served in the Coast Guard during World War II.
He attended Nazarene Church of Zillah.
Surviving are a sister, Bette Carlton of McLeansboro; two brothers, Richard and Bill, both of Benton; and nieces and nephews. His wife, Janice (Betts), died in 1989.
Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 6, 2001 at Harre Funeral Home of McLeansboro. The Rev. Robert Sefried officiated. Burial was in the Masonic and Oddfellows Cemetery in Benton.
