James Harrison Ritchason, 82, of McLeansboro died Sunday, August 19, 2001, at Mount Vernon Care Facility in Mount Vernon, Illinois, of cancer.
He was a truck driver.
Mr. Ritchason was born on May 25, 1919, in Macedonia to Sam Ritchason and Anna E. (Baumghardt) Ritchason. He married Bessie (Craddock) Ritcheson in Morganfield, Kentucky on December 23, 1939; she died on April 28, 1998.
He was a Baptist. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Surviving are two daughters, Lois Deen of Dale and Elsie Launius of Walpole; two sons, Roger of Groveland, Florida, and Danny Keith of Bensenville; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Bessie (Craddock) Ritchason, who died in 1998, he was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were at noon Tuesday, August 21, 2001 at Harre Funeral Home McLeansboro Chapel. Rev. Robert Sefried officiated. Burial was in Little Springs Cemetery near McLeansboro.
