Kenneth Dewey Gibbs

Kenneth Dewey Gibbs, 84, of Bentonville, formerly of McLeansboro, died Thursday, September 20, 2001, at his home.

He was a tool-and-die maker for Bucyrus Erie in Evansville for 40 years.

Mr. Gibbs was born on March 14, 1917, in McLeansboro to Giles L. and Alma (Wright) Gibbs. He married Irene M. Gibbs in Evansville, Indiana on November 11, 1950; she died on October 10, 1990.

He was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Surviving are a sister, Katherine McRoy of McLeansboro; five brothers, Walter and Byford, both of McLeansboro, Ivan of Mount Vernon, Glen “Bill” of Louisiana, and Dean of Wisconsin; and a grandson, Bradley K. Gibbs of DeKalb. His wife, Irene M., died in 1990 and a son, Kenneth Jr., died in 1998.

Memorial services will be at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2001 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Bentonville. The body will be cremated.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Kenneth, Jr.; three brothers, Clyde, John H. and Merril Gibbs.
