Lemuel Christmas, 97, of McLeansboro died Wednesday, March 14, 2001, at McLeansboro Healthcare Nursing Home.

He was a farmer and had worked for International Steel.

Mr. Christmas was born on September 26, 1903 in Warrick County, Indiana, the son of John and Elizabeth (Grissom) Christmas. He married Alaina (Miller) Christmas on November 21, 1971 and she died on August 2, 1983.

He attended North Friendship Baptist Church in Lynnville, Indiana, and New Hope Baptist Church in McLeansboro.

Surviving is his caretaker, Shella Ramage.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Almina (Miller), his parents and brother Curtis.

Funeral services were at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 17, 2001 at Harre Funeral Home. Rev. John Lee, Jr. officated. Burial was in Lynnville (Indiana) Cemetery.
