She was born on September 11, 1905 in Enfield to Cleve Tittle and Bertha (Fields) Tittle. She married Clarence Higginson on February 23, 1924; he died on November 15, 1986.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Eastern Star Lodge 702 of McLeansboro and White Shrine of Jerusalem 94.

Surviving are a daughter, Doris Trotter-Collins of Springfield; a half brother, Charles White of Whidby Island, Washington; two grandchildren, Beverly Jones and Gary Organ; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

In addition to her husband, Clarence, who died in 1986, she preceded in death by her parents and a brother and sister.

Funeral services were at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 14, 2000 at Harre Funeral Home. Rev. Robert Sefried officiated. Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
