Marie T. Elliot, 98, of McLeansboro, died 10:53 a.m. Monday, January 22, 2001, at her home.
She was born in McLeansboro on October 29, 1902 in McLeansboro, the daughter of William and Nellie (Crawford) Threlkeld.
She was a retired teacher, a graduate of University of Illinois and taught in McLeansboro High School and Grade School for 35 years.
She was a member of P.E.O. Sisterhood and a member of McLeansboro First Presbyterian Church and served as the church organist for many years.
Funeral service were at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2001, at the funeral home. The Rev. Bill Reed officiated. Burial was in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in McLeansboro.
She is survived by a daughter, Marilyn (husband David) Carlson of Columbus, Ohio, four grandchildren, Boyd, Bret, Eric, and Heidi Carlson, and six great-grandchildren, one nephew, Wendell Hall of Anderson, Indiana, and one niece, Linda Webb of McLeansboro.
She was preceded in death by parents, one brother, and one sister.
