Robert E. Carr, 69, of Carmi died Tuesday, August 28, 2001, of heart failure at White County Medical Center Hospital.
He retired as a journeyman mechanic for General Motors Corp. in Joliet.
He was a member of the United Auto Workers.
Surviving are his wife, Rona (Meador); a daughter, Janet Mosley of Cedartown, Georgia; a stepdaughter, Renee Chojnowski of Carmi; three sons, Gary of Macedonia, Russell of Jacksonville, Florida, and Randy of St. Anne; three stepsons, Ralph Porter of Oswego, Keith Porter of Nuremburg, Germany, and Kenneth Porter of Crossville; his mother, Myrtle Carr of McLeansboro; a brother, Dion of Carmi; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 31, 2001 at Cook Funeral Chapel. Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery in McLeansboro.
