Rev. Ray M. Wilkey
Born February 8, 1918 - Died June 19, 2001

Rev. Ray M. Wilkey, 83, of Belle Rive died Tuesday, June 19, 2001, at his home.

He was a pastor in area churches for 50 years and a school bus driver for 21 years.

Mr. Wilkey was born on February 8, 1918, in Mt. Vernon to Chalon and Gertrude (Turner) Wilkey. He married Frances Quinn in Dahlgren on March 21, 1938; she survives.

He was a World War II Army veteran serving from February 10, 1945, through August 6, 1946.

Surviving are his wife, Irene; a son, Ron of Belle Rive; four granddaughters, Sandra Muller, Lorraine Snyder, Susan Harloff and Michelle Mobley; and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2001 at Belle Rive-Flint Cemetery, with military rites. The Rev. Richard McCormick and Rev. Ron Trotter officiated.

Gholson Funeral Home in Dahlgren was in charge of the services.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and infant son and three brothers.
