Ruth V. Drew, 85, of McLeansboro died Friday, June 15, 2001, at Enfield Health Care in Enfield of congestive heart failure.
She was a retired mill operator and a member of Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Drew was born on November 28, 1915, in Chatchee, Alabama to William Franklin and Fannie Mae (Chasteen) Wheat. She married William Estill "Bugs" Drew at Corinth, Mississippi on January 23, 1957; he died in 1989.
Surviving are two daughters, Evelyn Anderson and Melba Klein, both of McLeansboro; two sons, Jimmy Perez of McLeansboro and Roger Perez of Salem; six grandchildren, Teresa Funke, Jim and Shanna Perez, Becky Klein, Marie Alsup and Leann Morris; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William, in 1989, her parents, four brothers, and one grandson.
Funeral services were at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2001 at Gholson Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Sefried officiated. Burial was in Hopewell Cemetery.
