Raymond W. Ritcheson, 76, of McLeansboro died of a heart attack at 5:35 p.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2001, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.
He was born November 22, 1924, the son of Daniel and Celia (Mace) Moore Ritcheson.
He was married to Rosemary D. Ambrosia and she died in 1994. He later married Ruby Kennedy and she died in 1997. He then married Betty Venters and she survives.
He was a locomotive engineer for the Burlington Northern Railroad in Cicero.
He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of American Legion Post 106.
He attended the Church of God.
Surviving are his wife, Betty; three daughters, Carol Sander of Russelville, Arkansas, Sharon Rae Birr of Wheaton and Mary Lou Gabriel of Lockport; four sons, Raymond of Minooka, Daniel of Jamesville, Wisconsin, the Rev. John of McLeansboro and Thomas of New Port Richey, Florida; 24 grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two wives, Rosemary D’Ambrosia in 1994 and Ruby Kennedy in 1997; two daughters, Frances and Rosemary Henning; and a son.
Funeral services were at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2001 at Gholson Funeral Home. The Rev. Rod Joplin officiated. Burial was in Maple Ridge Cemetery in Carmi with graveside military rites by American Legion Post No. 106.
